JetBlue just announced their new updates to their formerly known “family pooling” program, now just called “Points Pooling”, and it definitely has some welcomed enhancements! The points pooling program is just like it sounds — you can pool your points together with other JetBlue members, and best of all, there is no fee! This is great if each account does not have enough points in their account to redeem for a free ticket, just pool the points together and viola, the free flight is yours. While other airlines allow you to transfer miles from one account to another, it comes with a pretty high fee and yearly limits.

New Program Benefits:

As you can see from the chart above, all changes are in the customers benefit. No devaluations at all! While you are still capped at 7 people to be in your “pool” (which is still very generous in my opinion), they have taken away the 2 adult requirement. Now, you can pool your points with more friends and family members! There is now no longer a head of household where all points are transferred too, instead it is in one central account for all members within the pool to see and use.

Creating a Pool

You can easily set up your pool here. From this JetBlue site, you can select your pool leader and add up to the 6 additional members.

JetBlue has made the process incredibly easy to set up and within just a few minutes you’ll see all your points pooled together. I personally have this set up for my immediate family, including my husband and two kids and it makes using our points on family vacations that much easier!

When pooling points – how does the 10% back with the credit card work ? Do they go to the Pool Leader ? Or to the traveler ?
Thanks 🙂
