Between April 1 and June 30, 2016, you will earn 5x points on select categories with your Chase Freedom credit card. While you still have two more weeks to earn your bonus point, you must actually activate your bonus by end of day today, June 14, 2016. All purchases during the quarter will qualify regardless of when you register. This quarter is quite good where you’ll earn 5x points on groceries and at wholesale clubs. And remember, you can typically purchase gift card for other merchants at grocery stores if you are shy of the maximum threshold and want to maximize your points earned.

For every quarter that you spend the maximum of $1,500, you’ll receive 7,500 points. After the maximum spend, you’ll earn 1x point on all purchases. You can either redeem those Chase points for $75 cash back, or if you have a premier Chase Ultimate Rewards credit card (Chase Ink Bold, Chase Ink Plus, Chase Sapphire Preferred) transfer the points to one of those accounts and then either use them at the Chase travel portal or transfer them to a partner loyalty program.

For those new to the Chase Freedom card, this is a great card for your typical spending categories, i.e., gas, groceries, dining, travel, etc. Earning 5x points during the active time frame is a huge bonus, especially since this card comes with no annual fee. Read this prior post on Maximizing your Chase Ultimate Reward points.
