Last Day to Purchase Hilton Points with a 100% Bonus

Right now there are some great opportunities to purchase hotel points to actually save money on an upcoming hotel stay. Although the Hyatt and Choice hotels offers have expired, you can still take advantage of the Hilton and IHG promotions. The Hilton promotion expires TODAY, February 26th and you have a few more days for the IHG promotion as it lasts through February 28th. Through February 26, 2019, you can purchase Hilton Honors points with a 100% bonus.

Since today is the last day to take advantage of this promotion, here is the deal: If you purchase 10,000 points or more, you’ll receive a 100% bonus on all your points purchased. This is actually one of the better promotions as it doesn’t require you to purchase a ton of points to receive the bonus. Although this type of offer is only around a few times of year, I do not suggest speculatively purchasing points without a redemption in mind—do the math to see if purchasing points will actually save you money.

As previously mentioned, this offer is good for some, but I suggest checking out to see if the cost of purchasing points for a redemption is cheaper then paying cash at the hotel. With this promotion you are buying points at .5 cents per point. And remember, if you have Hilton status (Silver, Gold, or Diamond) you get the 5th night free on an award redemptions. You can learn more about earning status from this prior blog post – all Hilton credit cards also give you status as long as you are a cardmember!

I will personally be sitting this one out. I do not have a specific need for Hilton points and I am really not looking to collect more as this time. But for those that have a specific need, enjoy this promotion!
