There is currently a promotion for targeted Amazon.com accounts where if you purchase a $50 gift card you’ll receive a a free $10 promotion code to use at Amazon at a future time. While I was not targeted this time around, I have been able to take advantage of a similar offer multiple times in the past and everything went smoothly. I purchased my $50 gift card, applied it to my account, received my $10 promotional credit within a reasonable time, and was able to apply it to my account as well and use it a few days later. There really doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to their targeting system.
You’ll need to sign onto your Amazon account, click this link, and either you’ll see that you are eligible or a notice saying “Unfortunately, you are not eligible for this offer.” You can also go straight to adding a gift card to your cart and using the promotional code 1015GCARDS to see if it accepts the code.
If you are eligible and shop at Amazon, this is a great offer! Essentially all you need to do is purchase a $50 Amazon.com Gift Card by October 31, 2015, and within a few days you’ll receive your $10 promotional code via email. The $10 promo code must be used by December 16, 2015. You can then enter both the $50 gift card and $10 promotion code into your account to use for a future purchase (go to Your Account > Apply a Gift Card to Your Account).
Were you targeted for this $10 free promotion credit deal? If so, enjoy!

Neither worked for me
I tried it but the code didn’t work. I initiated a ‘Chat’ and the representative had me complete the order, give her the order number and she added the promo value to my account for my next purchase. Thanks!
I was not targeted, but I tried what you said and it worked. Thanks.
