We have all been waiting for this list to come out and it is now here! Every Marriott and Starwood hotel have been assigned their award category which means the number of points you are going to pay at a property post August 1st is going to increase or decrease (or maybe even stay the same). While I am still dissecting the changes and figuring out the properties that have massive changes (for better or worse), I wanted to quickly share with you the list. 
You can view the entire list here and Marriott has done an excellent job with allowing you to search for a specific property. The chart will tell you how many points the property currently requires for a free night and then how many points it will require when the new award chart is put in place.
Now remember, Marriott’s award chart will only go up to a category 7 through the rest of 2018, so any property that has a new award category listed as “8” means you will only be paying the category 7 pricing for reservations booked by December 31, 2018. So any hotel that says the new category will be “85,000 points” will really only require 60,000 points for a limited time! This will be an amazing time to stay at these properties as that means only 60,000 Marriott points or 20,000 SPG points under the current award chart. For example, you can stay at the Mystique in Santorini for only 60,000 points! Currently, this property costs 90,000 SPG points for a free night. This is one heck of a deal!
I’ll be putting together more blog posts highlighting hotels where you can get a great deal (due to going down in the number of points) and those where you’ll want to book within the next few months (due to going up in the number of points). Overall, these changes are neither positive or negative as there are many hotels are going both up and down. The impact really depends on the hotels you are looking to stay at.

Thanks for the update. Do you know how far out into the future we’ll be able to book the category 7 hotels for 20,000 SPG points? Like would next summer work for the St. Regis in NYC or will it be a shorter time period than that?
@Mary – You are able to book 365 days in advance. So next summer would work!
