Marriott is offering two big promos to save you both points and money. Both are a limited time deal, so you’ll want to purchase / book now to grab the savings.

Purchase gift cards with a 15% discount

Marriott is running a two-day Cyber Monday promotion where you can purchase gift cards at a 15% discount. You can purchase up to $5,000 per person/per credit card/per day, so truly you can purchase almost whatever denomination you want. There is no cap at the 15% savings either, which can help you save a decent amount on a future stay. And even if you are using points for your stay, the gift card can be used for any incidentals — including resort fees, dining out, activities, etc.

Keep in mind though, that these are eGift cards, so you cannot use them on a pre-paid stay. They can only be used towards your bill at the end of your stay.

Additionally, if you are using them at an international hotel that charges in their local currency, the exchange rate you’ll receive is not nearly as good as the exchange rate you’ll receive with your credit card. So one more thing to keep in mind.

Book a hotel at off-peak prices

If you are looking to use your points, Marriott is offering a great promotion to allow your points to go even further. One Mile at a Time is reporting that Marriott is offering off-peak award pricing at many of their properties.

This promotion is valid for reservations made between Nov. 30 and Dec. 14, 2020 for travel through Feb. 28, 2021. So if you are looking to travel during Christmas, New Years, MLK weekend or Presidents Day weekend, here is your chance to save some points.

One thing to note is that not all properties are participating in this promotion — although about 90% are. So if you see something pricing out higher, that could be why.

If you already have a stay booked, check to see if you can re-book at the lower rate.
