You can now earn reciprocal points when using your Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, or SPG credit card at any of the three chain hotels! This is a great perk and a nice way for the chains to start to integrate the brands while the merger is underway.
Starting today, you can earn the following points with any of the three co-branded credit cards:
- Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card by American Express: Earn two Starpoints points for every eligible dollar spent using the card at Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and SPG properties.
- Marriott Rewards Premier Credit Card from Chase: Earn five Marriott Rewards points for every dollar spent using the card at Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and SPG properties.
- The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Credit Card from JPMorgan:Â Earn five Marriott Rewards points for every dollar spent using the card at Marriott, Ritz-Carlton, and SPG properties.
Now, since SPG points transfer to Marriott points at a1:3 ratio, you are actually better off using your Starwood credit card when staying at any Starwood, Marriott, or Ritz-Carlton hotel! For example, let’s say the hotel is $100. If you use your Starwood credit card, you’ll earn 200 points. Those 200 points really equal 600 Marriott points if you want to transfer them between the programs. If you use your Marriott or Ritz-Carlton credit card, you’ll only earn 500 points. This is a great way to earn even more Marriott/Ritz-Carlton points at a Marriott or Ritz-Carlton property!

Do the Business versions of the Amex SPG and Chase Marriott cards include these reciprocal points earnings as well or just the Personal versions?
Yes they do!
