Yesterday I wrote about an increased offer for the IHG credit card. The card has a public offer available where you can earn 80,000 points after spending $1,000 within the first 3 months – the best offer and highest offer we’ve seen in quite sometime. A card that I highly recommend to have and to hold onto! You can learn more about hotel credit card offers here.
Well… this morning, a few folks reported seeing a targeted 100,000 point offer when they signed onto their IHG account. While I’ve tried to see this offer myself by signing into multiple IHG accounts on multiple browsers, I have not personally been able to get it to appear. The direct link to the offer is here. While the 100,00 point landing page will show for everyone, if you go to “Apply Now” you will most likely see an error page and then it directs you to a 60,000 point offer.
But Chase Might Match the 100,000 Point Bonus!
Chase has been known to match offers if you’ve applied and been approved for an inferior offer for the same card within the past 90 days. Just sign into your Chase.com account and send them a secure message. Let them know that there is a better offer available and ask if they’d be willing to match to the higher offer. The 100,000 point offer does come with a $2,000 minimum spend requirement (not $1,000 spend like the 80,000 point offer), so they will require you to spend that extra $1,000 on the card to get the additional points. Many folks have reported success with this – whether it was from the 80,000 point offer that came out yesterday or the 60,000 point offer that was available previously.
While there is no guarantee, you should be able to still apply for the current 80,000 point offer and upon  approval, immediately request a match. Make sure to apply for the 80,000 point offer and not the 60,000 point offer just in case. I’ll make sure to update this post if Chase stops matching to the 100,000 point offer. Feel free to comment below with your success!

Denied for 105k match. I got the IHG card at end of March with 85K for $2K spend. Just missed it by a week!
@Alex – oh no 🙁
I found a little more clarification on the 100k offer. You have to spend $2k to receive the initial 80k points. To receive the additional 20k in points you must spend a total of $10k in 12 months. That could be a deal breaker for some people. See the attached link for more info.

@karen – I believe that is for another offer for the card. There is an offer (the one I linked to in this post) is for a full 100,000 points after spending $2,000 on the card within 3 months. If you are looking to apply and get matched, make sure to show them the link from this post. Good luck!
I think I used the one from the post you had yesterday(?), and I got to the 100k offer but was told it wasn’t available to me. That was something you mentioned in your info. Anyway, I decided to go looking for the 100k offer and found that link. I’ll try it using the link you provided and request the upgrade once it is approved. Thanks for the follow up!
@karen – yeah unfortunately that one shows 100,000 points and then when you go to apply it drops 🙁
Reports have shown that chase is still matching. I personally wouldn’t apply for the 100k offer with $10k spend, but for $2k spend totally worth it!
It’s a few days late, but I requested and was approved for the 100k offer!
Applied and was approved for the 80,000 point offer yesterday. Immediately sent secure message asking to be matched to 100,000 point offer. Was told to contact Chase after reaching $2,000 spend in 3 months and they would add the additional 20,000 points at that time.
@david – great!
A applied for the IHG card under the 100,000 point offer and easily spent the $2,000 in one month. Now . Chase will only give me the 80,000 points. They have asked for the offer code and my invitation number. I did all this on line and I don’t remember getting those two items. Has anyone ever heard of those two requirements ?
Apparently Chase is saying that you had to get an offer for it in your email from the rewards company?! I sent the secure message and waiting to hear back. I tried talking to someone and even showed the link. They kind of scoot around the issue. Hoping to hear good news!
