Post #12 compliments of Mr. Deals…

5 packages came to our apartment on Friday. Not a single one was for me. Oh no, Mrs. Deals has a new (ok not so new) obsession. It’s ordering anything and everything from Rue La La. Now I’m expecting many of you deal hunters out there to know about this site and I have to admit, I’ve ordered a thing or two from there, but things are just getting ridiculous in the Deals household.

So here’s what happens. When we get a package we get an email notification that a package has come. The nice thing about this notification is that it says who it is for, me or the mrs. 9 out of 10 times its for her and I’m starting to get a little worried the discounts from a site like Rue La La are not working to our advantage. When we are getting 5+ boxes a week to our apartment, there’s a problem. Mrs. Deals is starting to spend too much on deals!

Friday, I was sitting at work and just watching these things come in. My conversations with Mrs. Deals were me asking her what they were and her responding “don’t worry about it, I’m getting miles!” I got home from work only to have her trying stuff on for me and going through what seemed like endless boxes of clothes and jewelry and whatever else women buy. This is becoming a weekly occurrence so I think I should be a little worried. That said, today we did go drop of 4 boxes that fell into the “return” group. I believe it’s only a matter of time before these deal sites catch on and Mrs. Deals gets blacklisted from returning their products. Until then I guess I will have to deal with it.

Oh and Mrs. Deals just read this and said to me, “good thing you aren’t here this week, Nordstrom was giving out 36 avois points for online purchases!” Good thing I see an email every time she gets a package. I’m now keeping a tally!

Hilarious!! I really look forward to the weekly posts from Mr. Deals.

And of course the discounts are working for Mrs. Deals. If something is 50% off, she can buy TWICE AS MUCH!!! It’s clearly a win-win situation.

Thanks for the great posts, Mr. Deals!!

@Randy – Glad you enjoy! I don’t know if I like that thinking of 50% off means she can buy twice as much. She definitely does that though!

@Mike – Yes, I will be preparing an intervention at some point if this keeps going. I’m scared
