Exactly two years ago today my family was in Paris. We were visiting close friends in London over Spring Break and took a side trip to visit “the city of love”. Our kids were just shy of 4 years old and 11 months old at the time so we spent most of the time just exploring the major sites of Paris from the outside and visiting many playgrounds. We went with really no agenda and ultimately had a great time. The weather was warm, there was not a drop of rain and we got babysitters at night to fully enjoy our evenings in Paris.
Similar to most others who visit Paris, Notre Dame Cathedral was one of our favorite sites. Although we did not go into the cathedral due to the long lines and having small children with us, we absolutely loved the French Gothic architecture and the beautiful large windows.
Even though we didn’t get to enter the cathedral, we did learn all about the history during our Fat Tire bike tour. Not only did we bike right by the cathedral, the tour also ended with a boat trip down the Seine River where we got to see the cathedral from an entirely different angle. Side note: If anyone is looking for a tour in Paris, I highly recommend the night tour with Fat Tire!
It is absolutely heartbreaking to hear what happened to the cathedral, but it will be rebuilt and I am sure it will be just as beautiful as it was before, if not more. My thoughts are with the city of Paris.

I just got back from my trip to Paris and got to see Notre Dame last Saturday. Such a beautiful place.
