Priority Club / InterContinental Hotel Group Summer Promotions

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

Priority Club and IHG (InterContinental Hotel Group) hotels have recently announced two promotions that will run through Summer 2012. These hotels include: InterContinental®, Crowne Plaza®, Hotel Indigo®, Holiday Inn®, Holiday Inn Express®, Express by Holiday InnTM, Holiday Inn Club Vacations®, Holiday Inn Resorts, Staybridge Suites® and Candlewood Suites®

A reader just commented (thanks Ryan!) that you can get a 16% rebate via the website TopCashBack.com for all IHG hotels. UPDATE: The rebate is now down to 6% but might increase again very soon!
That is a fantastic rebate as most of them range between 3-8% on average. This site is also currently having a limited time promotion (through July 5th) where you will get a $10 payout for each person who you refer via your referral link and earns $10 back in rebates themselves.

With all these promotions, an already inexpensive night stay could end up costing you close to nothing!

Promotion #1: Stay two consecutive weekday nights (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) at any Priority Club hotel and get a $50 Travel Bonus Prepaid MasterCard. You can learn more about this promotion here.

  • Valid for stays April 16 through August 2
  • Must register prior to booking your stay
  • Only available to residents of the US
  • Can earn up to a maximum of $200 in Travel Bonus Prepaid MasterCards
  • After you complete your stay, you must complete the following to get your $50 card in the mail:
    • Download and fill out the rebate form from ihgrebate.com
    • Mail the a) registration confirmation, b) completed rebate form, and c) hotel bill to the following address: Dept. 12-82807, P.O.Box 540027, El Paso, TX 88554-0027
  • Rebate redemption form must be postmarked no later than September 1, 2012

Promotion #2: Stay 2 consecutive weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) and get a $75 Vacation Pay Prepaid MasterCard. You can learn more about this promotion here.

  • Valid for stays May 14 through September 3
  • Must register prior to booking your stay
  • Only available to residents of the US
  • Can earn up to a maximum of $300 in Vacation Pay Prepaid Mastercards
  • After you complete your stay, you must complete the following to get your $50 card in the mail:
    • Download and fill out the rebate form from ihgrebate.com
    • Mail the a) registration confirmation, b) completed rebate form, and c) hotel bill to the following address: Dept. 12-82806, P.O.Box 540027, El Paso, TX 88554-0027
  • Rebate redemption form must be postmarked no later than October 3, 2012

Promotion #3: Earn 1,000 bonus points (or 200 bonus miles depending on your earning selection) for every paid night up to a maximum of 20,000 points or 4,000 miles. In addition to the nightly bonus points, you’ll receive 250 points if you book your hotel stay through an IHG brand website. As of right now you can only register for this promotion on their Facebook page, however, I believe this promotion will be publicly available June 1st.

  • Valid for stays May 14 through September 3 (for those who register via Facebook)
  • Valid for stays June 1 through September 3 (almost positive about this component for those who register via the regular website once the link is available)
  • Can earn up to a maximum of 20,000 points (or 4,000 miles) per account, which means you’ll earn bonus points on your first 20 nights

Promotion #4: “Hidden Priority Club Promotions” are always available as mentioned in a previous Hidden Priority Club Promotions blog post. Priority Club Rewards Insider blog does an excellent job with disclosing the many one-off promotions you might not see advertised often. Make sure to register for these promotions below. Some may work, while others may not, but no harm in trying right! When I did this last September, I registered for 6 or so random promotions and got a total of 4,500 bonus points I would not have even known about! If you stay at Priority Club hotels often, I’d highly suggest checking out the Insider blog often. Current promotions consist of:

@ deals we like

Is Promotion # 4 stackable within itself, that is code 2020, 6102 and 1228 stackable?

@Jo C – These codes should be stackable. Usually it is the stay X times get X point promotions that are not stackable, where there are 5-6 options. However, in the chances that they are not, I’d recommend registering for the highest promotion first then making your way down. With IHG, if codes to not stack, it is the first one entered that is taken.

wow, was able to register for all of them except not for both of the elite stay ones. I registered for the first one (1k-1.5k points), and I am not elite. When trying on the second elite one (3k points), it said I was already registered.

Wow…Now, shall I stay in the Holiday Inn Express in front of my house on purpose. Sadly it is expensive at $120 + tax.

BTW, I just noted that the cashback of IHG is 16% from topcashback.com. That writes off the tax!

My parents are coming to visit me in Boston next month, and I wanted to book them their hotel, but wanted to get the bonus miles for myself since they don’t have a Priority Club account. I’m a platinum member. Can I book the reservation under my name, and that way they could get platinum benefits (perhaps if I check in for them?). Has anybody figured out the best way to do this? Thanks.

@Jonathan – If you are able to check them in, then absolutely book them a room under your name and get the points into your account. They will get the platinum benefits and you will get the points – win-win! Usually I have success without even having to check in the person staying under my account by just calling the hotel and requesting that a key is given to the person arriving at the hotel prior to my arrival. There are times though that it results in many follow up phone calls though.

I’m staying at a Holiday Inn from Sunday (check-in) to Saturday (check-out) in one consecutive stay. Do you know which of the Prepaid Mastercard offers apply here?

I’m afraid I would have to check out on Sunday to get the $75, right? But can I ask for 2*$50 for Mon-Tue and Wed-Thu?

Thanks a lot!

P.S.: Reading the promotion details, it’s up to $300 for the weekend stays.

@Jan – That’s correct. I’ve updated.

Regarding your situation, for the $75 rebate, you must have a Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun stay, you you would have to check out on Sunday to get the $75. For this mid week $50 promo, you can get two, one for Mon/Tues and one for Wed/Thurs. The only thing is that you might need separate hotel receipts. I’d ask the hotel to check you out on Wed and check you back in on Wed so you can get two separate receipts to submit.

@deals we like

I’ve been trying to register on topcashback.com for a few days now (and just now, again, via your refferal link) and it keeps telling me:
“An error has occured. Please try again or contact TopCashBack if the error persists.”?!?!?!?

There is no way it seems to contact them on the phone (atleast I couldn’t find one on their website…).

Help?

@Bo – not quite sure what the problem is, however, I’ve been in contact with a person who works there so will ask her who you should contact come Monday. It might be her directly. I will get back to you Monday!

Is the $75 Vacation Pay Prepaid MasterCard good only at the IHG hotels or is it just like a GC? Thanks.

Anything new with the person you’re in contact with at TOPCASHBACK.COM?

It’s still not allowing me to register – its VERY VERY strange (never had anything like this happen before…)

@sanj – The $75 weekend rebate is only available for paid stays, not when using points.

From the T&C: A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates. Qualifying Room Rates do not include the following reduced room rates: net wholesale individual and group rate, certain package rates, employee discount rate, friends and family rate, crew rate, special discounted contract rates, seasonal worker/crew rate, 50% travel club discount rate, travel industry discount rate, distressed passenger rate, Priority Club Rewards Nights/Airline Hotel Reward rate, Best Price Guarantee Free Reward rate, complimentary hotel stays and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate. Also excluded are opaque rates and “name your own price” rates (where hotel name, location and/or rate not visible until after booking is submitted). Guests of an InterContinental Alliance Resort (The Venetian or The Palazzo) must book their qualifying reservation through IHG channels (brand websites, call centers, and GDS) to become eligible, and such guests who book in any other way, including directly with The Venetian or The Palazzo or any other hotel, will be ineligible.
