The end of December is quickly approaching which means you do not have many days left to earn your JetBlue Mosaic status. For those who are going to find themselves falling short, JetBlue just came out with a great opportunity to buy your status. Through Dec. 31, 2019, you can purchase the remaining points needed to qualify for Mosaic. This will then give you status for the rest of 2019 plus all of 2020.

Purchase points to earn JetBlue Mosaic status

You can purchase anywhere between 250 and 15,000 JetBlue points, although the price is quite high. If you are looking straight out purchase Mosaic status without having accrued any points this year, you are looking at a $5,550 price tag. JetBlue status isn’t even close to worth that price, so this truly is only worth it for those that are looking for that extra boost to cross the threshold.

Earning JetBlue Mosaic Status

To earn JetBlue Mosaic status you need either 15,000 flight points or 30 segments plus 12,000 flight points. If you already have the 30 segments under your belt, then you’ll only need to purchase enough to earn 12,000 total points. If you have not completed 30 paid segments, then you’ll need to get to the full 15,000 point amount. Even though I love JetBlue Mosaic status, I personally wouldn’t spend more than $500 for it — so 2,000 points needed.

Fortunately, my husband already earned his Mosaic status this year by flying, so we are in the clear and will not have to purchase any points. JetBlue Mosaic status has been great for my family. We are able to change and cancel flights for no fee. (Note: Basic Economy flights no longer receive this benefit). This allows us to book a few different flight options with our points and then later on figure out the one that works best for us. It also allows us to re-price our fare if the price drops, which happens quite often.

Overall…

While I wouldn’t spend too much to much to earn Mosaic status, you might be better off paying the fee than taking a few end of the year mattress runs. With that being said, mattress runs will probably be cheaper, but consider your time involved as well.

Who will be purchasing points to earn JetBlue Mosaic status for next year?
