This is the 2nd year in a row they are selling this type of membership, but this time around the cost is slightly cheaper and the travel stuff that comes along with the package is pretty good. Depending on how many of the above travel programs you will benefit from will determine whether or not the $49.95 fee is worth it for you. I personally just purchased the membership, and while I will probably not come out too ahead from the cost (will most likely even out), I like that 10% of the cost is going to a Milepoint charity.
I already have Hilton Gold status, but for those that are looking to obtain this status, paying $50 bucks is cheap! Hilton Gold status is actually the best mid-tier status out there as you get free breakfast for two, free internet, and sometimes lounge access. 10% off Hyatt gift cards is great though if you are at Hyatt person. Even if you typically use points for your hotel stay, gift cards can pay for your incidentals. Many resorts also allow you to put tours and activities on your room bill even when it takes place with a third party company. And 1,000 United miles never hurts either!
This premium membership is limited and last year it sold out within 3 days. I was told that the number of packages available is greater this year, but still no telling when it will sell out. See if you’ll benefit, and if so, you can purchase this package and read more about the T&C here.

Do you know how long it will take for gold status to post to your Hilton account? I know you said 8-12 weeks, but is there any data point from experience that suggest it may happen even sooner.
