Rakuten just announced their pre-Black Friday sale where you can earn 12% cash back on many of your online shopping purchases. This means, if you are shopping online at all — which most likely you are — you’ll want to make sure to take the extra minute to go to the site first to receive some lucrative cash back in your pocket.

Some of the popular 12% cash back stores include: Ulta Beauty, Helly Hansen, Gap, Athleta, Lululemon, Land’s End and more. Or, if you’re looking to make a hotel reservation, Hyatt hotels is even listed in the 12% cash back category, which is a never seen before addition. In fact, up until recently, they were never even listed on a cash back website.

And, if you’re new to Rakuten, you can receive a $50 new member bonus — in addition to the cash back you receive — to truly sweeten the deal. This is the highest bonus offer you’ll ever seen from this site, which makes using this site for your first purchase well worth it.

What is an online shopping portal?

Now, for those of you who have no idea what an online shopping portal is, here is my quick explanation:

It is an online website that you go to first when you are looking to purchase an item online. From the shopping portal, you’ll search for the desired store you are looking to make the purchase at (i.e., Gap, Macy’s, REI, 1-800-FLOWERS, etc.) and you will then be taken directly to the merchants website.

You’ll then continue to shop at that merchant the same exact way as if you went to the site first. Your purchase is tracked in the background and you’ll then earn points, miles or cash back (depending on the site used) for your purchase. There is absolutely no reason not to earn these extra points/miles or free money! It literally takes an extra minute of your time.

And best of all, Rakuten now partners with both Bilt and Amex Membership Rewards, so you can instead opt to earn 12x points in either of those two loyalty rewards programs instead of cash back. You just need to sync your accounts and opt to earn points in your account settings for.

Overall

So if you shopping online at all in the next few days, make sure to go through an online shopping portal. While Rakuten, is offering a nice payout at many online merchants, make sure to compare the cash back you’ll receive against some other cash back sites, such as TopCashBack or Swagbucks. You can even use the cash back aggregator cashbackmonitor.com and evrewards.com to compare the cash back — or points and miles, if you prefer — between all of the sites.
