Register for your Chase Freedom 5x Bonus Categories

This post may contain affiliate links from our advertising partners. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here. Additionally, some of the offers on this page may no longer be available through Deals We Like.

This is just a reminder that you have only until tomorrow June 14th to active for your 2nd quarter 5x point bonus categories for Chase Freedom credit card spend. This means through June 30th you will earn 5x points on all restaurant and Lowes purchases up to $1,500. If you hit the $1,500 spend cap that will earn you an additional 6,000 points on your already existing 1 point per cent purchase (which would be 1,500 points). If you do not manually activate the bonus each quarter, the bonus points will NOT be posted to your account.

2014 Bonus Spend Categories:

  • January-March: Gas Stations, Movie Theater, Starbucks
  • April-June: Restaurants, Lowes – activate now
  • July-September: Gas stations, Kohl’s
  • October-December: Amazon.com, Zappos, Select department stores

This is a great card for your typical spending categories, i.e., gas, groceries, dining, travel, etc. Earning 5x points during the active time frame is a huge bonus, especially when there is no annual fee for this card. This is a card to use for certain categories throughout the year! You have probably heard about this card before and coupling it with the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Ink Bold or Chase Ink Plus for the full trifecta affect and fully maximizing your points! Read this prior post on Maximizing your Chase Ultimate Reward points.

Make sure to not leave those bonus points on the table!

Points With a Crew

I just registered earlier this week (I only just applied for and received my Freedom card). I’m not sure how much spending I’ll do with only a few week’s left but we shall see!
