Last Fall the Club Carlson chain ran a promotion where you’d get a free night certificate to any US, Canada, or Caribbean hotel with the stay of one Radisson night. It was a great promotion as I know many people “stayed” at a Radisson hotel just for the sake of getting this free night certificate. You can read more about the promotion here.
However, with many promotions like this, people totally forget that they earned the free night and let their hard earned certificates expire. So this is a reminder to not do that! The certificates expire December 31, 2013! They are valid only at Radisson or Radisson Blu hotels, not any other Club Carlson properties such at Country Inn & Suites or Park Inn. While Radisson and Radisson Blu properties are their “higher end” properties, they are limited in the US and as a whole not nearly as nice as their International locations.
The good thing, however, is that a new Caribbean location was added this year- Barbados. So now you have four Caribbean locations to redeem these certificates: Aruba, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, and Barbados. I looked up reviews of the Barbados location and it seems to be a regular hotel (not a resort) but on an absolutely beautiful beach. I personally went to Barbados last year and there is so much to do on the island that you definitely don’t need a resort property.
To book these hotels just sign into you Club Carlson hotel and reserve a hotel as you normally would. You will see that the number of points needed for a free night is 0 points. Point availability, however, still must be available.
Now since the promotion was limited to one per account, I know many had a significant other/family member/friend/another account they set up under the same name, participate in the promotion as well. If you are looking to stay multiple nights with the free nights across multiple accounts, you will need to make a seperate reservation per night. After your reservations are made, I suggest calling the hotel and making sure the reservations are linked so you will not need to change rooms when you arrive. Also, if you are looking to tack on your reservation to a paid stay or stay made with points you will need to make separate reservations as well. Again, call the hotel and have them linked. These free nights from the promotion CAN be combined with the free night you receive if redeeming points and you have the Club Carlson credit card. You can read more about this benefit from the card here.
Did you earn a free night and where will you redeem it? Any Radisson or Radisson Blu hotels you’d suggest for Deals We Like readers? Comment below.

I used my free night a couple of weekend ago for the Radisson Blu Mall of America in Minnesota. I only had one night from the promo but had a second free night from a contest I had won.
The Radisson in Puerto Rico has been a Radisson for years, and is an old, dated property. I blogged about it in December 2011. http://www.youwentwhere.com/?p=375 Not sure where you got that information from.
I have a free night from the promotion as well as Club Carlson credit card. If I make two separate one night reservations, one for a few night promo and other using points for one night, will my second reservation be free once I call the hotel and combine reservation?
I earned my free night at the Radisson in Colorado Springs, CO and used the free night coupon over 4th of July weekend at Radisson Blu in Chicago. Beautiful hotel with a very friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location.
My spouse and I used our free nights at the Radisson Martinique in New York.
We used it at Radisson Martinique in New York. It’s such a so so hotel. There is no way for me to pay to stay there.
