Silvercar just announced that starting on May 9, 2016 you will be able to rent one of their luxury cars at Newark Airport! Rates seem to be about $79/day, but if you are looking to rent the first week they are available, you can use promotion code SPRING20 to get 20% off (this code expires May 15, 2016). Also, car rental rates are much more expensive in the New York City and surrounding airports, then some other parts of the country, especially in the summer, so that isn’t too too bad.

What is Silvercar?

If you are new to Silvercar, it is an interesting concept where you are renting one type a vehicle, an Audi A4. These cars have all-wheel drive, built-in GPS, satellite radio, bluetooth, and a free WiFi hotspot. Renting a car with them is seamless as there is no paperwork to fill out (you complete your profile ahead of time). Typically an employee will pick you up at the airport in your car as well and and drop you off at the airport and you’ll not have to deal with car rental shuttles. However, with this location, the details on how you will actually get the car is still TBD. I personally used Silvercar last year in Miami and had a great experience!

New to Silvercar?

If you are new to Silvercar, after you complete first rental you’ll get $25 back from Silvercar – within 24 hours after you complete the reservation you’ll receive an email from Silvercar and will be paid $25 via Paypal. To receive this credit you must sign up through another members referral. Note: This is my referral link. As always, thanks for the support and feel free to leave your referral in the comments section as well!
