Small Business Saturday is one of my favorite “holidays” of the year. In the past I’ve been able to earn a ton of statement credits just by shopping on this day, and I am happy to let you all know that it will be returning again this Thanksgiving! The official day will be Saturday, November 28, 2015.
While the exact offer is still to be determined, if it is anything like last year, it will give you up to a $30 statement credit on EVERY SINGLE AMERICAN EXPRESS CARD YOU HAVE! Last year, you could get a $10 statement credit with a $10 or more purchase up to 3 times per card. Prior years was a $25 statement credit on a $25 or more purchase. I personally liked the $25 statement credit offer better since it involved just one transaction instead of 3 separate transactions, but I’m happy with any free money!
For those of you new to Small Business Saturday, this includes most American Express cards. As long as your card has the Amex symbol on it you are good to go, even if not issued by American Express – for example, Bloomingdales American Express, Macy’s American Express, Fidelity American Express, etc. In the past, Bluebird cards have been eligible but Serve and Prepaid cards have not been. We will see this year whether or not Target REDCards are eligible (my assumption is no, but we will soon find out).
If you have an American Express with no annual fee, think of this as FREE money! If you have an American Express card that comes with an annual fee, think of this as a way to offset the fee.
