Staples is offering some heavily discounted items this year during their Black Friday event. Stores upon at 6pm Thanksgiving Day (closes at 10pm) and again on Friday at 6am.

Staples Black Friday 2014

There are a bunch of computers, tablets, printers, and work chairs on sale, along with a bunch of other items. They are offering 20% off iPads and 15% off iTunes gift cards.

There are also MANY incredibly inexpensive items after rebate. A few of these items include:

  • 8.5″ x 11″ 500 sheet paper: $7.99 – $7.98 easy rebate = $0.01 (in-store only; 4 per household)
  • Kaspersky Internet Security = $45.01 – $45.00 easy rebate = $0.01
  • Omnitech 14-sheet shredder = $129.99 – $75 instant savings – $35 easy rebate = $19.99
  • Norton Security = $79.99 – $20 instant savings – $40 easy rebate = $19.99

The best part about the first two penny deals is that you can use a credit card that gives you 5x points at office supply stores and really make out from the deal. With the paper deal you are limited to 4 per household address, but there is not currently a limit given for the Kaspersky Internet. Let’s say you can only purchase one (although that definitely might not be the case) and you go ahead and purchase 4 reams of paper. This will cost you a total of $76.97 (plus tax which will differ depending on which state you are in). You will then get back $76.92 in a check from Staples after submitting the easy rebate form online. So you are paying 5 cents for these items (which you may or may not need), but will earn 384 points using a 5x point credit card. I’ll go more into this in another separate blog post, but essentially it can be a great way to get nearly free items and rack up some points! If you do not need the items, I highly suggest donating them to a school.
