A few weeks ago Starwood announced their Winter promotion where you’d earn double points for stays of 2+ nights and an extra 250 points per night at select hotels. Now, just 8 days into the promotion they added two more bonus point opportunities. If you are able to stay between 15 and 24 nights during the promotion you’ll earn an extra 2,500 points. If you are able to stay 25 or more nights, that will earn you an additional 7,5000 points for a total of 10,000 extra points.
This is a nice little enhancement on the promotion and definitely helps those that stay at Starwood properties often. Remember, there are NO hotels excluded from the promotion (which is AWESOME!) and these select hotels will earn the extra 250 points per night. This promotion goes through April 30, 2016, but you MUST REGISTER by April 10, 2016.

Starpoints are a risky investment these days. No wonder they are having to spice it up. I know a number of fellow heavy travel business guys that were SPG loyalists but have all but given up on them with the recent announcement of their pending merger with Marriott. Assumption is that Marriott will at best value SPG points higher but the value of the rewards program will be gutted just the same. They are looking to spend them, not add more. Shame really.
@Parkerthon, I agree with you. I stay at a SPG property ~150 nights a year, and am very apprehensive about what it going to happen with Starpoints. I feel like Marriott won’t want to drive away people such as myself so there will likely be a favorable conversion ratio following the merger (unless they somehow leave it separate, at least for a while), I fear that most properties will become much more expensive, a low level award for 4k points a night feels very endangered, and the higher end properties will likely inflate in points cost rapidly once Marriott loyal travelers have access to them (and book tons of the “no blackout dates” award space).
