UPDATE: This offer has expired.
Currently, the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express OPEN has a limited time offer where you can earn 35,000 bonus points! This offer is ONLY for the business version of the card and NOT for the personal version. Related blog post. While some might prefer the personal version, the business version is actually way better – with this card you will receive complimentary lounge access to all Sheraton hotels!

- Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express: Limited time offer! Earn 35,000 bonus Starpoints® after you use your new Card to make $7,000 in purchases within the first 3 months. Offer ends 3/28/18. *Terms Apply.
Complimentary Lounge Access
The complimentary lounge access is a benefit that is already given to those with Platinum status, but now everyone can enjoy lounge access (assuming you have the Starwood Preferred Guest® Business Credit Card from American Express OPEN) regardless of status. At a Sheraton lounge you will get complimentary daily breakfast, premium selection of beverages, and hors d’oeuvres. There are also snacks throughout the day and free WiFi access. I personally have found Sheraton lounges to be spotty throughout the US (some are way better than others), but international lounges are typically top notch. For example, a friend of mine stayed at the Sheraton in the Maldives and having lounge access saved her at least $150+ a day! You can check out all Sheraton lounges here. I also loved having access to the Sheraton in Krabi (unfortunately no longer under the Starwood brand) many years ago since it gave me free breakfast and there were no other breakfast options outside of the hotel. Having lounge access at hotels has given me a place to relax, my kids a place to run around, and most importantly has saved me a ton of money over the years!
Eligible Rates
As long as you book with Sheraton directly, you are granted this benefit. It does not matter if it is a paid stay, a stay using only points, or a cash + points stay. Regardless if you are paying for the stay or using points you are good to go! However, reservations booked through a third-party reservation system such as expedia.com, orbitz.com, where you are not paying the Sheraton hotel directly do not qualify.
Overall
With the Sheraton lounge access is only granted to the business version of the card that gives it a huge leg up compared to the personal version. Also, until June 1, 2018, the business version also gets American Express OPEN Savings access, while the personal card does not. Aside from those two benefits, the cards are exactly the same. You can learn more about all the card benefits here.
I personally think this is a huge perk to the card especially for those that stay at Sheraton hotels often enough.

Will SPG combine points for the business and personal accounts? What happens to points if you close the personal card after first year and keep business (or vice versa)? The sheraton/lounge in Moscow was good.
@Deb – Yes! All points go into your SPG account, which is one account number. So when you apply just make sure to include your SPG account # on your application. If you do end up with two accounts, SPG can combine them for you.
If you close your account, you are still eligible for the points, you just need to make sure you keep your SPG account active so the points do not expire.
If you already have the card do you now get these new benefits or is it for new holders?
@Brian – All card members are eligible regardless of when you received the card.
