Remember that awesome promotion this past summer where Iberia was pretty much handing out incredibly cheap points for their program? In case you took advantage and didn’t have any issues receiving your points, the deadline to use those points is quickly approaching — you have until the end of the month to use them or else they will be pulled from your account!

Despite Iberia’s awful customer service when the promo launched, I do give them credit for sending out reminders about using your points.

I personally took jumped on this offer and earned 90,000 points for a total out of pocket cost of $240. While this points were by no means free, they were incredibly cheap to earn. One big problem though — I still haven’t used them! I can always transfer my points into my British Airways account, but it will probably mean I can never earn Iberia Avios points again, unless they allow me to create a new account at some future point. I am still trying to figure out some good uses for them, but nothing seems to be working out just yet.

Where did you redeem your points? Or where will you be redeeming your points?

Round trip Chicago to Madrid direct on Iberia. Not sure, but I think you can cancel or change as long as you book on Iberia flights as opposed to partner or other alliance airlines. I made sure my flight was with Iberia.
