Marriott and United (with the help of Chase) are joining forces to allow you to earn double points during the month of November. For those that have the Marriott Rewards Premier or United MileagePlus Explorer, Club, or Presidential credit card, you can earn bonus points when making purchases at each others brand. Use your Marriott Rewards Premier credit card on United purchases and earn double points. Use one of the three United credit cards on Marriott purchases and earn double points.
Of course you always earn double points on all travel related purchases with the Chase Sapphire Preferred and I value those points higher then Marriott and United. Nonetheless, this is a pretty cool promotion and I hope to see these type of offers surface more frequently in the future!

The Marriott card already earns double points on air travel, does this mean it earns 4x next month?
@Ben. Yes
When I use my Marriott Rewards card for Marriott purchases I get 5X on the points. I am unclear as to why I would want to use my United card for this transaction. What am I missing?
