Hyatt just announced the first time where you can use your Hyatt points for an actual experience, instead of just using them to redeem free nights at a hotel. Hyatt has teamed up with AFAR, an organization committed to inspiring, guiding, and enabling travelers to explore the world. With this partnership, they are offering Hyatt members the opportunity for a 3 day/4 night trip to Tokyo. The trip will include “dinning with innovative chefs, discussing arts with curators, and learning from local experts who are engrained in the fabric of Tokyo”.
There are 75 spots available for this experience. Registration starts now and is available on a first-come, first service basis. The trip takes place November 10-13, 2017.
There are two ways to pay for this trip, either with points or credit card:
- Pay with points:
- 200,000 World of Hyatt points includes one AFAR Experiences Tokyo registration and one standard room at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills (single occupancy) for four nights
- 300,000 World of Hyatt points includes two AFAR Experiences Tokyo registrations and one standard room at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills (double occupancy) for four nights
- Pay with credit card:
- The cost for the trip is $3,900 USD (airfare, transportation and accommodations not included). If members who book via credit card would like to stay at Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills, there will be a discounted rate available (website will take you to page to make reservations)
Keep in mind that airfare is not included in either option! While it is expensive, if you are sitting on a lot of Hyatt points and looking to redeem them for something other then just a regular hotel room/resort, this could be a decent usage. You can learn more about this AFAR experience here.
