Right now, United.com is pricing out their award tickets for partner flights to Europe, India, and Central Asia for significantly less.
Typically, partner flights to Europe from the US, for example, go for 70,000Â points one-way, but right now you can use just 57,500 miles for the same flight. So this is a savings of 12,500 miles one-way or 25,000 miles roundtrip. Essentially, partner flights are pricing out at the same price a United operated flight would be. As you might recall, earlier this year United separated their award chart to charge a different number of miles for their partners vs. United flights (partner flights costing more miles).
It is still unclear whether or not this is a glitch or a points sale. Since flights on United operated flights isn’t always available, this is giving you more options to redeem the same number of miles and you might be able to fly on an even better aircraft. The reduced pricing is currently only for travel in January, February, and March.
You can check out some partner routes at DansDeals.

Not a glitch – a real sale! My booking said “Saver Sale – North America”. It’s amazing how it feels like a good deal to book something that was 15,000 fewer miles last year. 🙂
@charlie – Haha. I know!
