TripAlertz, another discounted getaway travel site is offering its members a $10 $5 credit for each friend you get to join (you can earn an unlimited number of credits). Unfortunately the friend does not get anything in return, except the potential of finding a great travel deal! I looked through their current deals and thought they were just okay (some better than others), but if you can get enough of your friends to join your getaway could be FREE!! This is a limited time only deal (typically you just get a $1 credit when each friend signs up) and the credits are good for 2 years 6 months (not too shabby)!
I would highly suggest that you join TripAlertz and start posting your referral link via Twitter and/or Facebook. Or, you could always go the old fashion route and send your friends an email asking them to join! You could even link up with a friend you would like to travel with and work together to increase your credits by using the same referral link.
If you are not currently a member, feel free to use my referral link (no pressure at all, but always appreciated) or have an existing friend invite you as someone might as well get the $10 $5 credit! Also, make sure after you register you activate your account in the email they send.
The best part is that all your friend has to do simply is join. No purchase, no gimmick, just probably some extra emails in their inbox.
While I have never used TripAlertz, it looks as though you need to select your dates for travel before purchasing. Also, the difference between TripAlertz and some of the other travel deal-a-day sites is that as more people purchase the deal, the price will drop. Kind of a cool concept I guess?!
I will check out the deals they offer over the next few weeks and see if I should add them to my Travel Deals page.
Where would you like to go with your free vacation?! And if you have any experience with TripAlertz, please let me know, as I would love to hear!

Thanks for the info. I just used your link to signup!
@Goheerow – Thanks! Now try to get as many of your friends as you can to sign up!
Signed up though your link… Thanks for the tip! Now I’m workin on signing up the family through mine!
@Travelingirl – Anytime! Send it out to your entire network – enjoy!
Thanks a lot. Just a warning to others: my wife signed up using the referral link I posted on facebook and now I am not getting credit for any referrals.
@Andrew – Have you tested it with another email address within your family? Keep me posted on this.
Thanks! Do you know how long it takes to get the referral credits? My girlfriend signed up through mine, but it’s not showing yet
@Trevor – It should only take a few minutes. Did she definitely confirm her membership with the link they sent in one of the two emails?
@dealswelike
looks like it just processed. Thanks! seems like there’s the potential for people to abuse this by using their own link
@Trevor – Glad it finally posted! You are correct that there is the potential for people to abuse, but I definitely would not advocate it. I am assuming this site, like many others, has processes in place to monitor who is signing up and to ensure they are not coming from the same IP address, maybe??
Goodluck getting friends and family to join! And I hope you can get a free vacation!
I can’t seem to join. When I click the “sign up and see private deals now” nothing happens. Not with Chrome or Firefox :/
@Shannon – I am using Firefox and did not have a problem. Can you try signing in with another email address and see if that works?
