For the past week or so, Amazon has been marketing July 15th as one of their best sale days ever and “with more deals than Black Friday.” They are saying that they’ll be offering exclusive deals on electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing, patio, lawn and garden, sports, outdoor items, and more. But, to take advantage of these offers you must be an Amazon Prime member.

Typically a Prime membership costs $99 year, but Amazon allows you to sign up for a 30-day trial for free. This means you can take advantage of “Prime Day” even if you are not currently an Amazon Prime member.

  • Amazon Prime Trial – free 30 day trial
  • Amazon Mom Trial – free 30 day trial
  • Amazon Student Trial – free 6 month trial! (Amazon Student rates are only $49 – all you need is a .edu email address which anyone can set up at a local community college – with this membership you cannot share it with other people)

Overall

I’ve personally been an Amazon Prime member for years and find it worthwhile. We actually share the membership with my brother-in-law so that helps decrease the yearly cost as well. I love the convenience and enjoy receiving free 2-day shipping on many items.

I’m interested in seeing what this big “Prime Day” brings and if there are any earth shattering deals, I’ll be sure to write about them. In the meantime, if you think you might be interested in taking advantage of these deals, I suggest setting up a trial account now. You can always cancel within 30 days.

I sell on Amazon but I do not participate in the Prime. Be sure to check all sellers that are selling the item you are interested in. My price with shipping is almost always lower than any prime price. Nothing is ever free. Amazon builds the price of shipping into the cost of the item. Buyer beware. Check out the listing and find the area that shows all sellers of the same item at the same listing.

I’ve done a few orders on the Jet.com site, since getting an invitation. It’s kind of like ‘Amazon lite’; but I’ve found a few good bargains. When I go to reorder, everything cost more or not available. Now on my last order, I purchased Oreo cookies. A followup email gave me the impression someone had to run over to Walmart for ’em.

Yea AmazonTrial.com is good but if you’re a student, student.AmazonTrial.com will give you 6 free months instead of 1 month.
