I am constantly asked, “How do you find all these cheap airfare deals you write about on your blog?” or “I am looking to go from X to Y, how can I find cheap airfare?” And while there are many different ways I find out about them, my best and main source is The Flight Deal. Their entire site is based upon finding cheap flight deals and posting them. I’d say on average they post 10-20 deals a day! Of course many of them are city specific so they do not pertain to the mass majority, but when a really really really good deal comes up, you DO NOT want to miss it! The best way to take advantage of flight deals is to be flexible and open to new destinations. Being flexible should almost 100% guarantee that you’ll be able to just on some great airfare prices.
I highly suggest you all follow them on Twitter. I personally find that to be the easiest way to keep track of their deals. I also subscribe to receive their Tweets via text message notification. It can get quite annoying having your phone buzz many extra times a day but for me it is all worth it. Follow these steps to set it up. Keep in mind you cannot filter the tweets you receive by destination, so every deal they find will appear. On their blog, they will list most details about the fare, including airline, routing, dates, etc. They will also include if fares are widely available or specific to just a few days – so you know whether or not to waste your time. Remember though, fare prices can change quick, so if you find something that is of interest to you, act fast! Typically, most airlines allow you to cancel within 24 hours.
Btw, I have no affiliation with this site, I just think they are an amazing resource!

I set up IFTTT.com notifications for theflightdeal which text the information to me based on keyword of my city.
@Blah – oh really! I need to look into that.
