British Airways just announced a fairly lucrative promotion that will run through January 31, 2014. Unfortunately, if you are traveling on your own dime, this promotion probably will not apply to you as it is for passengers flying on a paid full fare, premium economy, business class, or first class ticket. Chances are, if you pay for for these fares yourself, you are not reading a blog on how to travel for a reduced cost!
When flying on American Airlines, British Airways, Finnair, OpenSkies, and Iberia, you will continue to earn more miles with each round-trip transatlantic flight (eligible fares listed below).
- First class: 25,000 bonus miles
- Business class: 25,000 bonus miles
- Premium economy: 15,000 bonus miles
- Economy (full fare): 10,000 bonus miles
While there is no limitations to the number of miles you can earn, you must register for this promotion PRIOR to booking your flight. This means that existing flights for future travel will not count towards this promotion (which I think is ridiculous and hate when airlines do that).
