Hertz is offering a pretty nice promotion where you can earn up to 2,750 United miles with just a 1 day or more car rental. Typically, this higher offers are limited to car rentals of multiple days.

screen-shot-2016-11-08-at-2-15-16-pmThe miles you’ll earn depends on your current status with United. The higher your status, the more miles you’ll earn. However, ALL members, regardless of status will earn the 1,500 point bonus on EVERY SINGLE rental. So even if you have no status, you can still rack up a decent amount of miles!

Regular members will earn 500 miles + 1,500 mile bonus for a total of 2,000 miles, those that have the United credit card will earn 750 miles + 1,500 mile bonus for a total of 2,250 miles, United Premier Silver and Premier Gold members will earn 1,000 miles + 1,500 mile bonus for a total of 2,500 miles, and United Premier Platinum and higher will earn 1,250 miles + 1,500 mile bonus for a total of 2,750 miles.

screen-shot-2016-11-08-at-2-17-58-pmThe only criteria is that you must book a mid-size car or larger. The terms state that you must book through united.com, but typically booking directly with Hertz will work as well. Just make sure to enter PC #305023 and your MileagePlus number at the time of making the reservation. You can also save an additional 40% off your rental by using CDP code 62455.

If you have the stamina in you, doing a bunch of 1 day rentals instead of one long rental could definitely be worthwhile! You can always ask the car rental place if they’d be willing to return and re-rent the car to you without you actually having to go back to the Hertz location. You never know!

Thanks to reader mommafrica for letting me know about this promotion!

I can’t get the bonus miles to post correctly. United and Hertz both give me a run around. Don’t bother – it’s not worth the frustration dealing with either company.

The Promotion Coupon youve selected – {0} is not available for this rental either because that location isnt participating or some requirement for the offer hasnt been met. We have removed the Promotion Coupon from your request to provide you with the best rate. There may be other offers in the Special offer section which do apply, so you could check there for an alternative. [DRX141]
