5 Free Car Service Rides in NYC

The car service app, Gett, is offering rides $50 in free ride credits to new users of their service. This is a great offer since they recently announced that all rides throughout Manhattan (south of 110th Street) are a flat $10. This means you can get 5 rides for FREE! Or, you can apply that $50 to any other rides that are more expensive – for example, a ride to JFK is $58 so with this offer you can get to the airport for just $8 plus tip, tax, and toll (if applicable).

Screen Shot 2015-09-02 at 12.27.28 PMWhen signing up, make sure to enter code GETTSEP. This is the best offer I’ve seen from Gett thus far.  Note: This cannot be combined with the current $30 referral sign up bonus.

I’ve used Gett many times in the past. However, if you are looking to get somewhere during peak travel time they typically do not have any cars available. With Gett though you are able to reserve a car in advance (at least 4 hours in advance) which I really like. For example, I actually just used them to get to JFK Airport and was able to seamlessly reserve my car the night prior. The car was on time and it worked perfectly. This is a service that many of the other app car services (i.e., Uber, Lyft) does not have.

The website says “expires 9/18/2015” Does that mean you have to use the credit by 9/18 or you need to install the app and the credit code by 9/18?

I want to use this to go to JFK on the 22nd but it says expires on the 18th. Is this the last date to sign up or the last date to use the offer?

Thanks.

Mikal from gett says it expired
I stated the 9/18 date but he would not honor it
Not happy with gett as a first time user
