Hyatt just announced that they are officially acquiring Two Road Hospitality group which includes many hotel brands across the world. This means that there will be 85 or so more Hyatt properties being added to the chain once the brands are integrated into the Wold of Hyatt program in 2019. While Hyatt still will not be nearly as big as Marriott/Starwood or Hilton, this is still a big step up and a way to add some more luxury properties to their portfolio. You’ll also be able to see Hyatt properties in some areas where there are currently none. This will be great to increase the ways to earn and redeem Hyatt points!

Some of the brands being added include:

Joie de Vivre Hotels

I am particularly excited about the Carmel Valley Ranch property and for two Hyatt options in New York City!a blue background with white text

Thompson Hotels

This will add three more Hyatt hotels in resort destinations in Mexico!

Destination Hotels

This is probably the most well known brand and carries the most hotels within the hospitality group. This will add more vacation options in Sedona, Scottsdale, Carmel, Lake Tahoe, Vail, Snowmass, Aspen, Maui, Lani, Kauai, Isle de Palms, Park City, and Stowe. I am actually the most excited about the Stowe Mountain Lodge property in Stowe, Vermont! This would actually be the first on-mountain resort where you’d be able to use your hotel points in the East Coast! A huge win for East Coast skiers! It will be interesting to see how Hyatt integrates these properties into their portfolio since some of them area right next door to one another or already existing Hyatt properties.a screenshot of a map

Alila Hotels & Resorts

This brand is great for those looking to redeem their Hyatt points in Asia! a white paper with black text

I am extremely excited about these new additions and will be anxiously awaiting to see how the award chart reflects these properties. Since most of them are higher end, my best guest is that they will be priced between a 5-7 in the World of Hyatt award chart.

Which property are you the most excited about?
