Wyndham is joining the Black Friday frenzy by offering a 40% bonus on purchasing points. While we’ve seen this type of promotion in the past, it is the best purchasing point offer and. great way to truly stay for less.
With Wyndham’s 3-tier award chart, hotels cost between 7,500 and 30,000 points per night.
- 7,500 points a night — Tier 1
- 15,000 points a night — Tier 2
- 30,000 points a night — Tier 3
And while this promotion might be a great way to stay at one of their properties for less, one of my favorite ways to redeem Wyndham Reward points is through their Vacasa partnership.
With Vacasa, you can book a home rental for just 15,000 points per night, per bedroom. This means a 1-bedroom costs 15,000 points, 2-bedroom 30,000 points, 3-bedroom 45,000 points and so on. I personally have used my Wyndham Reward points for a Vacasa reservation many of times and it has already worked out incredibly well. This has allowed me to stay slope side at a Vermont ski resort for just 15,000 points per night — an amazing deal.
This means if you are looking for a 4-night stay — which costs 60,000 points, it’ll cost you just $559 (43,000 regular points, plus 17,300 bonus points). This means you are looking at just $140 per night.
The only caveat is that there’s blackout dates and pricing cap — although none of that information is disclosed. From personal experience, usually the cap is around $400 or $500 per night.
Overall…
This is one of those promotions where I highly suggest doing the math to see if an upcoming stay is less expensive by purchasing points vs. paying the lowest available price. I absolutely would not purchase Wyndham Reward points without a specific redemption in mind. It is also good to know that Wyndham Reward points expire 4 years after they are earned, regardless if your account is kept active or not.

I can’t find anybody posting successfully booking more than a 1 bedroom property. Even considering unpublished restrictions. I don’t think it is actually possible to book anything but a 1 bedroom property.
@Jono – While I haven’t actually booked, the representatives have actually been able to find multi-bedrooms for me using points.
