Amazon just launched a new service (currently only in Manhattan) where you can get your Amazon purchase delivered within two hours! This new service called “Prime Now” is free for those with Amazon Prime service. Delivery is available from 6am to midnight, seven days a week. You can even get 1-hour delivery but there is a $7.99 fee. Amazon does include a recommended tip which you can include in your final payment. You can always change the tip to what you see appropriate.
While I have yet to use this service, there is a $10 off code for a $50 or more purchase. To take advantage of this discount, you must first download the app “Amazon Prime Now” which is available on the iPhone and Android. Sign in with your regular Amazon Prime username/password and then search for the items you want. Only items sold and shipped by Amazon are available. If you do not need the item immediately, I suggest comparing the price against Amazon.com’s third-party resellers as well to ensure you are getting the best price. When you select the credit card to use, enter promotion code NOW50FOR10 at the bottom of the page.
The best part about this is that you can take advantage even if you are not the primary Amazon Prime member. For example, I piggy-back off of my brother-in-laws Amazon Prime’s membership. Amazon Prime allows you to share their account with up to four additional family members living in the same household. BTW – I do not live with my brother-in-law! So while I am not the primary member, I still have my own username and password, but do not need to pay the annual fee. Typically secondary members do not get some of the same benefits, such as Amazon Prime Instant Video. So I am glad to see that all members, primarily and non-primary members of Amazon Prime have access to Amazon Prime Now.
Remember, this service is only currently in Manhattan but will be available in other cities throughout the year.
Have you used this service yet? Enjoy your same day items!
