If you have an American Express credit card, you might be in luck. American Express just added a new Amex Offer to many members accounts which will allow you to receive a $20 statement credit at Amazon. Just spend $50 and you’ll receive a $10 credit — and you can take advantage of the offer twice giving you a $20 back in your pocket. This offer does not expire until Nov. 8, 2020 so you have some time.

Saving Money with at Amazon Amex Offers

Step 1: Sign into your AmericanExpress.com account and go to the “Amex Offers For You” tab. Find the “Amazon.com” offer and make sure to select the “Add to Card” button. Make sure to register the offer on the card that you typically use to make purchases at Amazon — once you add the offer to one card it will disappear from your other American Express cards.

Step 2: Spend $50 or more at Amazon with your registered Amex card, up to 2x. You do not need to spend $50in a single transaction, rather, once you spend a $50 in total on your card, you’ll receive the statement credit. The transaction must hit your credit card by Nov. 8, 2020.

This offer applies to anything purchased at Amazon, including Amazon gift cards as well as third-party merchant gift cards, such as Starbucks, Whole Foods and many more. So even if you do not plan on making a purchase at Amazon over the next few months, you can reap the savings on a gift card to use at a future time or at another merchant.

Note: There is also a variation of this offer where you have to spend $100 on your card to receive the $10 statement credit.

Combine with other American Express Membership Reward Promotions

While receiving a $10 statement credit — or a 20% discount — is a nice savings, you can even combine this offer to save even more. There are currently many promotions out there where if you simply use one American Express Membership Reward point towards your Amazon purchase, you’ll receive a discount off your total purchase. This previous post goes through the steps to save more money, but you can click on the link below to see if you are eligible (they are targeted).

For example, if you are eligible for the $10 off a $50 purchase offer, if you buy a $60 item, you’ll instantly receive $10 off by applying a single Membership Reward point and then another $10 off in the form of a statement credit.

You can use these offers on some great products at Amazon, especially during their huge Labor Day sale that is still going on. They’ve recently been offering some great daily deals which has allowed me to stock up on back-to-school items as well.

Overall…

This is by far one of the better Amex Offers we’ve seen in awhile. Although targeted, it does seem to be available to many and caters to almost everyone — since it is Amazon and you can purchase third-party gift cards if you prefer. With this offer my family will save a quick and easy $40 — $20 on my account and $20 on my husbands account. I was going to purchase a patio heater today from Amazon, so this will be a nice savings.

Enjoy your discounted Amazon purchases and even extra savings!
