Best Buys first Black Friday promotion is here! If you purchase a $150 e-gift card, you’ll receive a $15 savings code to use on a future purchase. You must purchase the gift card between now and November 17, 2018 (so before Black Friday starts), but the savings code cannot be used until after Black Friday between December 16 through December 28, 2018. You can take advantage of this promotion 3 times per customer.

Although Best Buy’s Black Friday ad has not yet been leaked, you can be sure we will see it before this promotion end. So if there is anything you are looking to buy during their Black Friday sales, this is a good opportunity to purchase gift cards in advance to get some savings in December (Note: The $150 e-gift cards do not expire, just the $15 savings code). I personally wish it was an offer that came with a regular bonus gift card instead of a savings code with an expiration date tied to it, but oh well.

You can think of this as a savings of 10% on the gift card purchase (assuming you’ll absolutely have a need for the $15 savings code), but if you can purchase Best Buy gift cards for less, then go that route instead. One good thing is that you can typically apply the $15 savings code to a 3rd party merchant gift card at Best Buy in-store. Best Buy sells a few other merchant gift cards, such as Amazon, at their stores, so you should be able to apply the savings code towards an Amazon gift card to then use at a future time.

Overall, this is a decent promotion to save on any upcoming Black Friday purchases you might have. Remember, another way to save on Best Buy gift cards is to purchase them at an office supply store (i.e., Staples) with a credit card that gives you 5x points / 5% cash back (i.e., Chase Ink Bold, Chase Ink Plus, Chase Ink Cash).

I prefer Best Buy to purchase needed things. To maximize my savings on Best Buy, I redeemed Dealhack coupons and got a good discount.
