Discount on TrackItBack.com for Device Recovery Tags

While I have never used TrackItBack.com before, it has been mentioned many times in other travel blogs as a way to recover lost items while traveling. Essentially it is a service that sells ID labels which provides a toll free phone number and reward for the lost item’s return. If an item is found, the finder can ship it back for free. It essentially increases your chance of a lost item to be recovered, helps facilitates the return of the item, and makes it so you do not have to include your personal information on the item.

Since I lost my camera on my 2nd to last day on my honeymoon last year in Bali (yes, I know, it was horrible and a lesson learned), I have been thinking about signing up for TrackItBack, but thought it was kind of expensive. Today, however, I received an email from EverSave (another deal-a-day site) that you can get 80% off one of their services. For $20 you can get five portable device-recovery tags ($100 value).

This particular deal will give you 5 TrackItBack stickers of all different sizes. These can be applied to cell phones, cameras, video cameras, Ipods, etc.

One thing to note: If you are looking to take advantage of the US Airways Grand Slam promotion, TrackItBack is one of the partners to receive a “hit”. Purchasing this deal will not give you a “hit” for the promotion as you need to redeem your voucher through a specific site. To qualify for the Grand Slam promotion, you must purchase your TrackItBack service through the US Airways Dividend Miles portal. Essentially, you are not able to double-dip.

Click here to purchase this deal from EverSave. Also, if you are not currently a member you can sign up here (all new members will receive a $3 credit). Update: Apply code LaborDay at checkout and you will receive an additional $2 off your purchase. This is for all new and existing members.

Better yet, just ask to buy them on Flyertalk. Many of us have thousands of dollars “worth” of TIB stickers that are collecting dust.

@Nameloc – With the US Airways Grand Slam promotion and the promo they had 2 years ago, you are correct – Many points gurus do have many laying around.

Since Track It Back is now out of business I’d like to respectfully suggest an alternative, FoundIt!. http://foundit.net

FoundIt! is based in academic research and provides a simple and elegant solution to getting back your lost items. When an item of yours is found you get an instant email and text message alert. YOU are in control of how you’d like to arrange to get your item back, keeping your personal information private.

You can try out FoundIt! and enter the code TIB to save 30%. For less than $1.50 a month you get 30+ stickers and 4-8 durable plastic tags!
