While this probably isn’t as good as the Budget car rental deal I posted about last week, if you are in a location where there is no Budget and only Avis, this can still be a great deal.
For an intermediate SUV, you can get $23/day (for weekend rentals) or $169/week. For a standard SUV, you can get $26/day (for weekend rentals or $179/week. Fortunately, this is available at participating locations both on airport and off airport. The Budget car rental deal is only valid at airport locations, so this is where Avis can come in handy. Both, unfortunately, exclude NYC locations (including the airports). You must use AWD rate code: D039700. You can reserve on this Avis site and the code will automatically be included.
This offer is valid for cars reserved for pickup by June 15, 2013. A weekly rate requires a minimum of 5 consecutive days (with a 14 day maximum). A weekend rental period begins Thursday at noon and the car must be returned by Monday at 11:50pm. If you checkout the car on a Thursday or Friday, the rate requires a Friday night overstay. You also must reserve your reservation 24 hours in advance of pickup.
With this discount you can also combine a coupon code with it. Here are some coupon codes to use depending on which one saves you the most money:
- MUWA018 – $25 off a weekly rental (must include Saturday night)
- UUWA055 – Free upgrade on a compact through full size rental
- MUWA236 – $5 off a 1-day weekend rental
- MUWA237 – $10 off a 2-day weekend rental
- MUWA238 – $15 off a 3-day weekend rental
- MUWA239 – $20 off a 4-day weekend rental
Also remember that if you book your car rental through a cash back site and earn some money back or points/miles depending on the one you select. You can get 4% back with Topcashback.com, 3% back with Big Crumbs and Ebates, and 2 points/$ with Chase Ultimate Rewards. Enjoy!

Looking in the Philadelphia area for early June and not seeing the discount.
Thanks, got in on an SUV in SFO over memorial day weekend – 69 bucks for the weekend! Crazy good!
Thanks again for posting!
Why is JFK/LGA always excluded…..
…..
I just booked on Southwest – it looks like I will get 1200 rapid reward points. I had to put in the AWD code above instead of the stored one in Southwest’s website. Do you know if I will still earn rapid reward points?
@yeah buddy – I am not sure exactly how you booked it but my assumption is that you need to include the southwest code to get the bonus points. Send me the exact link and i can let you know.
And how do we know Avis won’t renege on this offer, like they did a couple of weeks ago after thousands of us booked with them!!
@frank – this isn’t a free offer that was caught on. This is a legit sale that is advertised on Avis’s website.
the link is: http://travel.southwest.com/specialoffers/offerDetails.html?id=66467375 – I kept the SW coupon code in and put AWD code for the $23 per day SUV. I think it should work. Also used a CC which gets 2X travel pts. Not too bad overall with the extra 1200 pts for 3 day rental. I could not use the $15 off as I am getting car Friday so this was best stackable offer. Great find. Thanks Deals We Like!
