The Fairmont credit card is one that has always been on my radar, but I never pulled the trigger. The sign up bonus comes with 2 free nights that expire a year after you receive the certificate. I was always waiting to apply until I had a specific need for them. But… thanks to The Frequent Miler for letting me know that the Chase Fairmont Visa Signature card is soon to be gone! Actually, it was supposed to already been pulled, but a few of his readers have been able to find working links. At the time of writing this post, you can still grab the card and 2 free night sign up offer if you desire! Application link.screen-shot-2017-01-12-at-9-42-13-pm

I am still on the fence of whether or not I’ll apply for this card. While this card doesn’t fall within Chase’s “5/24” rule, it is counted against the number of applications applied for if trying to apply for another Chase card later on. I actually have 3 credit cards following off between, but I am re-thinking my strategy on if I really care about more Chase cards anymore. I also am not 100% sure where I’d use the free nights and hate to plan travel around them. But, if both my husband and I apply tonight (assuming the application link is still around by the time I decide), that would give us four free nights at an awesome hotel. In the back of my mind, I am thinking Mount Tremblant (we love to ski), Bermuda (an easy trip for my husband and I), or Barbados. In my ideal world, I’d love to say we’d use them in Hawaii, but thanks to my 7 month old, I have’t slept in exactly 7 months and the thought of taking two kids to Hawaii right now does not seem so exciting!

The card also gives you Premier elite status, which gives you a few benefits every year you are a card member. These benefits include: $50 in dining or spa credits, 1 room upgrade, 1 suite upgrade, and 1 free 3rd night on a 3 night stay. The best part is that the credit and room upgrades CAN be used when redeeming your free 2 night certificates. However, the 3rd night free cannot. The card has a $95 annual fee, but is waived the first year. Also, if you spend $12,000 on the card annually, you’ll receive a free night to use.

Will you be applying for this card? Where do you suggest using the free night certificates?

I just received the Fairmont Visa Card yesterday. I plan on using it at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver.
