A pretty cool app just launched where you can find the cheapest last minute fares from any destination. While it won’t give you a discount by purchasing the ticket last minute (similar to HotelsTonight), this is great for the person that just wants to get away and doesn’t care where to!
The app is called Flight Tonight and is currently only available for iOS 7 users.
Essentially, you enter your current location and it will give you a list of the cheapest destinations at that given moment.
So at the time I took this screen shot, you could go to some great vacation destinations at a reasonable price. This is so much better then checking every possible destination especially if you really do not care where you go!
You can select the destination that looks desirable and the app will give you additional detail such as length of stay (for the cheap fare) and airline. It then gives you booking options for the cheap fare (such as Orbitz, Hotwire, JetBlue, American, etc.). For this example I selected Bermuda to see what the options were.
While I’ve only played with this app for one day, it seems pretty cool! Obviously, I’d love to see a site that gives discounts on last minute fares (like you can get with hotels and car rents), but I do love the compiled option for last minute destinations.
Have you used this site yet? What are your thoughts?

Could this be used in conjunction with Priceline name your own price? If you’re ok with all the airlines/times listed for the destination, could you you bid lower and get a deal that way?
Thanks for the heads up on the app. I’ll definitely check it out
OP – would be nice if you included a link to the app download
Nick O – do you mean figure out the destinations and then bid for several destinations? What happens if you get accepted in more than one place?
