Another blog post from Mr. Deals…
So I hope you all didn’t miss me too much last weekend. My apologies for missing a week of posting. It was the day Mrs. Deals and I were flying back from Israel and we were squeezing every last minute out of vacation before a brutal Monday back at work (nothing like stepping off a 13 hour flight and heading to work). But it’s no excuse, you are my loyal readers and you should expect better from me. I hope that I can find a way to make it up to all of you.
Alright, so back to the regularly scheduled program. This morning, I was hoping for a leisurely wake up followed by breakfast, a workout and maybe a few errands before the afternoon of Football games and what not. I mean, there was nothing really on the calendar for the day, or so I thought. Mrs. Deals woke up a bit early than me this AM which is pretty typical. Today she came back to the bed with the computer and started typing away. A few minutes into her disturbing my slumber I am fully awoken by a request to go to some MasterCard thing in Columbus Circle (this is probably 30-40 min away depending on trains). I should revise this statement, this wasn’t a request, but a “you are coming with me to Columbus Circle for a MasterCard giveaway, right?” Because I love my wife so much, I happily agreed to join her. Of course the only reason we were going was because there was an opportunity to get something for “free.”
I’ll be honest, I’m not sure there is such thing as “free” when it comes to Mrs. Deals. Of course you have the cost of transportation to get to this thing and of course it’s in a very popular shopping area and required a receipt using a MasterCard. Of course we ended up buying a bunch of stuff in the midst of chaotic holiday shopping. Side note: Â Holiday shopping is crazy. Ultimately what did we get? Oh just a small little holiday gift bag of chocolates, olive oil, a toiletry travel bag, etc. Oh and of course there was glitter on the bag. Whoever invented glitter must’ve wanted to really annoy people. Is there any way to avoid getting glitter on you once you’ve been in close contact with it? I’m all ears here.
The short of it, I think I could’ve gotten more accomplished sleeping. Oh, the things you do for love!
