As you probably already know, Hyatt just recategorized many of their hotels and while yesterday was the last day to book some hotels at the lower rate, today is an opportunity to get points back for those select hotels that actually went down a category or two. While Hyatt says they will automatically adjust the rate for you, it doesn’t hurt to call and have them manually do it. It seems as though each representative does it differently where some might give you the point difference back as a credit and others will cancel and rebook for you at the lower rate. So here is a list of the hotels that just got a lot cheaper:

- Mandalay Bay

So if you already have a reservation booked for any of the above hotels, make sure to call Hyatt and get a refund on your points. I personally had a reservation for a hotel that went from a category 5 to a category 4. It took just a few minutes and they canceled and rebooked my night. This saved me 25,000 Hyatt Gold Passport points.
