Welcome to another post of helping a reader travel! Sorry I’ve been slacking in this weekly series, but I promise to continue this as many have seemed to benefit from these reader tips. As I’ve mentioned before, I have not been to every destination (unfortunately), but do get questions from friends and other blog readers on all sort of travel destination questions. Thus far, we’ve been able to help other readers travel to MauiThe Greek IslandsPacific Coast HighwayArgentina /Buenos AiresCosta RicaCape Cod & The Islands,IcelandGenevaCanadian RockiesRomeIsraelPeru / Inca Trail Stockholm,ChicagoParisHanoiAustinPuerto RicoBrugesSalzburgIstanbulLas Vegas,Jamaica, India/Golden Triangle, AucklandSingapore, Moscow, The Oregon Coast,SeattlePortlandHawaii IslandsAlaska SkiingBrazilPragueBudapestParaguay,Cabo San LucasEdinburghSan DiegoHilton Head, and Dubrovnik.

So this weeks travel destination includes Tanzania. I received the following email from reader Robert.

“I am looking to go on safari and really want to go in Tanzania. I was wondering if any of you readers have any safari recommendations. In addition to a safari, what are some other things you’d recommend doing in Tanzania? I am looking for a medium priced safari – doesn’t need to be 5 star’s, but also do not want to camp. Any and all recommendations much appreciated, thanks!”

If you’ve ever been to Tanzania and have any recommendations, let’s help out reader Robert by commenting below.

Also, if you have any upcoming travel where you need some help, feel free to email me at dealswelike@gmail.com to be a featured “Help a Reader Travel” Monday special. Thanks!

Look if you want to go on a safari but don’t want to camp, go to South Africa or a zoo. I don’t mean to sound like a dick, but I’ve spent 6 weeks in Tanzania, in tents (nice tents, for what it’s worth) and it’s awesome. Why would you want a hotel or luxury accommodations in such a situation? It doesn’t make sense to me.

My sister just won one of the Travelzoo trips to Tanzania. We are planning on January. 7 days. My only concern is the 44-42 hour travel time over to Arusba. Could someone give me an idea what to expect. Excited for the opportunity to photograph the culture and wildlife.

Have spent lots of time of Tanzania. Pristine trails is great. I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro with them and did two different safari’s on different trips. Both were awesome and not to expensive. Here is their website. http://www.pristinetrails.com. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions. I was on a budget as well.

I will be leaving to Tanzania next month for the first time to climb Kilimanjaro and to do a safari afterwards. I chose Kilimamjaro Brothers after some research. http://www.kilimanjaroclimbingadventure.com/

My wife and I climbed Kili in 2005 with Tusker Trails who worked with Hoopoe Safaris out of Arusha to plan a great 5 day safari including Lake Manyara National Park (known for its tree-climbing lions), Olduvai Gorge, the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Totally awesome. Just be VERY careful not to drink ANY water that hasn’t been boiled. We were sick for the very long plane ride home.

I will be going to Tanzania next month for a Kilimanjaro climb and a subsequent safari. I will be using Kilimanajaro Brothers out of Moshi for both activities. This is my first time.

I like KIBO tours. A U.S. company that uses them is OAT.

Call Elewana hotels or Safaris. Very nice properties in Tanzania I think they have different price ranges

I highly recommend Good Earth Tours, http://www.goodearthtours.com, we used them for a Tanzania safari a few years ago and it was fantastic, great value also. They will customize their offerings as well, you should enquire about the cost of a private vehicle, for us it was a small upcharge and totally worth it.
