I made Mrs. Deals happy

Another blog post from Mr. Deals…

I like to think that I often make Mrs. Deals happy. I mean, that’s what being a good husband is all about right? Well, I think I found out what makes Mrs. Deals really happy, saving money on a flight. I should caveat this though. In order to make Mrs. Deals really happy, I have to miss an opportunity to save money and then get a second chance and do what Mrs. Deals tells me to do. Something like that…

Here’s the story. I am off to Denver in a few weeks for a college friends wedding. Awhile back Mrs. Deals so kindly booked me some Airtran flights since we noticed prices kept going up and up and up. It was making her unhappy that I was waiting so long (I’m pretty bad about that). The flights got booked and I figured I was set to go. About 3 weeks ago Mrs. Deals IM’s me at work telling me that the flight went down in price, call Airtran. Of course, me being me, I said “sure, I’ll do it later” and went about my day, ultimately never calling Airtran. Boy did that make Mrs. Deals unhappy (sorry babe). I always forget how much she loves getting a deal…

Just this week, I get another IM from Mrs. Deals while at work telling me the flight went down in price again. My first thought was, ‘is she just sitting there checking the price everyday, this woman is crazy!’ But then, I made the smart move, I promptly found the flight confirmation called Airtran and within 5 minutes I had a $30 credit and an IM from Mrs. Deals saying, “WAY TO GO BABE!”

That my friends is called winning!
