The Ink Business Preferred Credit Card is not only one of my favorite business cards, but also one of my most cherished all-around-best-ever-cards. And right now, Chase just increased the welcome offer to an incredibly high 100,000 Chase Ultimate Reward points. Although the minimum spend requirement is quite high, I understand that this will not be an obtainable offer for everyone.

Redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards
Chase Ultimate Reward points are my favorite currency to earn as they are extremely flexible to use. There are two ways to ideally redeem your points. One of the easiest ways to redeem your points is through the Chase Ultimate Rewards travel portal where each point equals 1.25 cents per point, making the 100,000 point offer worth a fixed $1,250.
Or, many people will get more value out of their points by transferring them to to a loyalty rewards partners. Below is a list of the 13 partners, but my favorite include British Airways, United and Hyatt. For those looking to fly business class, you’ll also find some great redemptions with the international airline partners. I value my Chase Ultimate Reward points at a minimum of 2 cents per point, making the 100,000 point offer worth $2,000 when redeeming your points this way.

Card Benefits
Not only does this card offer great category bonuses and rewards, it also holds some winning perks. Here are some of my favorite benefits that come along with this card:
Amazing Cell Phone Protection Insurance
This card is one of the few credit card that carries cell phone protection. As long as you pay your monthly cell phone bill with your Ink Business Preferred Credit Card, you are covered. This means if your phone is damaged or stolen, you will be reimbursed the cost of replacing the phone or getting it fixed. You are allowed to file a claim three times per year rolling 12 months and will be reimbursed up to $600 each time, minus a $100 deductible. Not only are you covered, so is everyone else on your bill. While there are some other cards that also offer cell phone protection, those cards do not allow you to file as many claims per year.

I personally have taken advantage of this benefit one too many times now. With two young kids, my phone seems to break more times than I’d like to admit. Also, both my dad and my sister have used this benefit as we are on a family plan and I am the account owner. When my phone broke the umpteenth time, I was able to purchase the exact same phone and received a check in the mail for the cost of the new phone, minus the $100 deductible. Submitting the claim was an easy process and the check came within a few weeks. I was actually surprised at how seamless the process was.

Primary Car Rental Insurance
This is one of the few cards that will offer primarily car insurance if you rent a car for business reasons. This will allow you to decline coverage when renting a car, thus saving money. While many credit cards offer car rental insurance, they offer secondary insurance which means you’ll need to file a claim with your personal auto insurance company first, before the credit card insurance kicks in. With this card, you can completely leave your personal insurance company out of it.
Not to mention, you’ll also earn 3x points on your car rental.
Trip Protection and Trip Delay
Aside from offering 3x points on your travel purchases, this is an ideal card to use for the baked in travel protection. For example, if you need to cancel a trip for any protected reason (i.e., family sickness, death in the family, etc.), Chase will cover you as long as you paid for your travel with the card.
Another huge benefit is their flight delay protection. If your flight is delayed by 12+ hours, or if it requires an overnight stay, you can be reimbursed for up to $500 in out of pocket expenses. This covers not only the cardmember, but all family members traveling who were booked on the reservation. This came in huge last summer when my flight from Portugal back to Boston was canceled and then delayed for 36 hours. We were reimbursed our extra hotel night, all of our food, taxis and a few t-shirts. Best of all, you can even use miles for your airfare, as long as some of your portion is paid on the card, such as taxes, you are covered.
Overall
If you are able to swing the minimum spend, then this is an amazing welcome offer. I personally value this at a minimum of $2,000 towards travel, which is quite awesome.
Since this is a business credit card, you also might be able to be approved for this card again for a second business you own. Although I already have this card for one business, I will absolutely be trying to get this card again for another. It also will not count against your “5/24” count since it is a business card as well.
