One of my favorite ways to earn airline status every single year is with JetBlue’s Mosaic status match and challenge. This promotion has been around since 2013 and the question still remains on when JetBlue will announce the promotion for 2018. Fingers crossed of course. In the past, there were two parts to the promotion – a status match and a status challenge.
- Status Match – If you had status with another airline you could receive an instant match to JetBlue Mosaic status for the rest of the calendar year
- Status Challenge – If you spend $1,250 with JetBlue within a 90 day time period, you’d receive JetBlue Mosaic status for the rest of the calendar year, plus the entire following calendar year
In the past 5 years, the promotion dates included:
- 2013: June 27-August 31
- 2014: March 18-April 18
- 2015: August 24-September 7
- 2016: May 4-June 30
- 2017: July 14-August 14
So based on prior dates, we really should see this offer pop up soon, at least within the next 6 weeks. That is assuming they are running the offer again. Please, please, please JetBlue run this promotion!
While I always partook in the match part (thank you American Airlines lifetime Gold status and Southwest Companion Pass status), I rarely flew enough with JetBlue during that 90 day period to qualify for the challenge. But getting Mosaic status for half the year was always welcomed!
If I were to put money in a pool, I’d say we will see this offer again and it will be announced on July 27. What are your thoughts?

For someone who doesn’t fly hundreds of thousands of miles per year, I am thinking this would be a quick mileage runs to earn the Mosaic status then use that in 2019 to match or challenge to another airline.
I know lots of people dis Mosaic. But it’s terrifically powerful. So eager to see it return.
July 27 came and went, still no challenge. Hoping it will be like 2015 with a late August challenge!

Moving to OC soon near Long Beach so hoping to fly with JetBlue more – but status helps!
