If you’ve been eyeing to go to the newly built Legoland in New York — about an hour outside of Manhattan in the Hudson Valley — you are in luck. The resort just announced that they’ll be opening up this Saturday, May 29, 2021. Originally, the resort was set to open last summer, but due to COVID, they had to push back opening day a full year.

Legoland New York will open up with six out of seven of their themed lands, including: Bricktopia, LEGO City, LEGO Castle, LEGO® NINJAG® World and MINILAND. As of now, there is no set date on when their seventh theme land will open, known as LEGO® PIRATES. There’s also a Legoland themed hotel that is part of the resort, but those accommodations are not yet available just yet.

Legoland New York Theme Park

The amusement park spans more than 150 acres and is catered towards families with children between 2 and 12 years ago. Moving forward, the park will be open seasonally between early spring and late fall — similar to most parks in the Northeast. Although the hotel will be open year-round, where you’ll find four

Currently, Legoland New York tickets are being sold for $49.99 for adults and $44.99 for children (3 and up). These discounted preview day tickets will be for guests visiting between May 29 and June 20, 2021. The park isn’t currently selling tickets past that date, but originally on their pricing list, tickets were north of $70 per person. For those that live nearby and believe they’ll visit more than once over the summer, you can also purchase a Gold season pass for $229 for the year. This pass will also give you access to 32 other attractions at Merlin attractions in North America, such as Legoland Florida and California, Legoland Discovery Centers, Sea Life Aquariums and Madame Tussaud’s.

For those wondering about the mask policy: the resort if following New York States CDC guidelines where masks aren’t required outdoors for fully vaccinated guests, except while on rides and in line for a ride. Masks are required indoors for all individuals. All Legoland employees will be wearing masks both indoors and out.

Overall

My kids absolutely legos and theme parks, so this is a great combination. Being located not too far away, we are anxiously looking forward to visiting the park this summer. The Hudson Valley is also a beautiful destination, so for those visiting from further away, you can really make a weekend of it.

I am looking forward to reporting more about our experience at the Legoland New York theme park at some point this summer. For those that are visiting over the next few weeks, I’d love to hear about your personal experience.
