Marriott’s Summer Promotion

REMINDER: You have until tomorrow Thursday July 31, 2014 to register for Marriott’s summer promotion (which runs through August 31, 2014). DO NOT FORGET TO REGISTER!

Marriott just launched their summer promotion which will run from June 1 through August 31, 2014. Like most Marriott promotions, each individual is targeted for a different promotion.

You’ll need to sign into your account and see which promotion you received, but they include the following:

  • Double points. Earn double points after your second paid stay, up to 25,000 bonus points
  • Earn up to 30,000 points. Earn 20,000 bonus points after 12 nights, plus an additional 10,000 bonus points after 18 nights
  • Earn up to 35,000 points. Earn 25,000 bonus points after 15 paid nights, plus an additional 10,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights
  • Earn up to 45,000 points. Earn 35,000 bonus points after 20 paid nights, plus an additional 10,000 bonus points after 25 paid nights

Registration is required by July 31, 2014. If it takes you to “Session Timed Out” page, make sure to sign into your Marriott account and re-click on the registration link.

In the past, members have been able to call Marriott and get moved to another promotion. If you were targeted for one promotion, but would prefer another, call Marriott Rewards (801-468-4000) and ask if you can be registered for that promotion instead. Typically, they will not be able to change this in the system, but will document this request on your account and manually adjust the points you are awarded after the promotion is over. If you speak to a representative that is not aware of this or says no, hang up and call again.

This promotion is pretty underwhelming in my opinion, although unfortunately none of the current chain promotions for the summer are something to write home about.

Thanks to Points, Miles, and Martinis for telling me about this promo!

As I recall there was confusion on the “change your view” from the start and they made changes in the T&C.

Two Saturday stays just wasn’t worth it for me. I did some other parts. I was thinking also that since I didn’t finish it, and haven’t stayed much since, they may not ratchet up the difficulty again in BW3 (?).

Hi,

I have a questions regarding Marriott promotions. I am new to this program and wanted some clarification.

I understand that these promotions apply “after your second paid stay”. Does that mean that the bonus applies to your 3rd two night stay or are you getting the promotion points for the 2nd paid stay.

Just wanted clarification as I have a 10 night stay booked in Aruba in late July and another two night stay prior to that in Montreal. I am just trying to see if my Aruba stay will qualify for the bonus promotions.

Thanks

As someone who’s 4 stays in, after second paid stay for this promo meant starting with the 3rd stay. Shame, because the second stay was a fairly big dollar, and the 3rd + 4th wasn’t.
