Well it has taken quite awhile, but I am happy to say that my 90,000 Iberia Avios points finally posted this morning! When I originally wrote about the promotion, I was actually pretty confident that the points would post, but I started to get hesitant as Iberia blocked my account and requested more information. But I see them now. They are there. In my account. Ready to be used! Thank you Iberia for maybe one of the best promotions of the year! FYI – This promotion is no longer available.a man holding sunglasses and smilingWith this promotion I spent $270 and I am still hoping that I’ll receive a $30 rebate from Mr. Rebates by using their shopping portal. In my Mr. Rebates account it shows that the 10 transactions took place, but the $3 per flight is still in a pending status. To receive the 90,000 miles it ultimately cost me either $270 or $250, we shall see.

If you are still not seeing the Iberia points, try sending Iberia the following in one email to clasica@iberia.es.

  • Fill out this Personal Data Rectification Request
  • Screen shot of your passport (I originally sent my drivers license and that did not work)
  • Screen shot of all 10 of your reservation confirmations (or however many you booked)

It seems as though they are replying to emails much faster now then they were previously. So if you send them the info now, you should hear back within a day or two. Just make sure to do so by July 31st.

Now I just need to figure out where to book! Did you take advantage of this promotion? Where are you using your points?

Just booked 2 round trip flights to Madrid last night. I do have a question: what do you do with the 10 flights I booked from Madrid to Santander? Do I cancel or just be a No Show?

Unfortunately, I canceling them could also roll back those Avios you earned. I plan to no show for mine.

That is my thoughts also. I still don’t understand Iberia’s thoughts for this promotion. They are going to have alot of empty seats and give aways alot of expensive tickets for very cheap. Got 2 roundtrip NY to Madrid flights in summer for $270 which is what I spent for my 10 flights

How long did it take for them to post? I sent an email 11 days ago and still haven’t received any emails back from them

Mine still have not posted. I have sent many emails and have not even received a response from Iberia.

I am very frustrated with Iberia’s customer service, or lack thereof. I received an e-mail from Iberia on July 4, asking for a copy of my identification, my Iberia Plus number, and copies of the tickets. I e-mailed all of these to them at clasica@iberia.es on July 5. I’ve heard nothing since, in spite of repeated e-mail follow up messages. I’ve resorted to the telephone, which is just as bad. Yesterday I tried four times, each with the same result. 1) I reach a customer service representative and explain that I am calling about the promotion; 2) she tells me that she cannot help, that she must transfer me to the department handling that; 3) I get transferred and wait on hold; and 4) after being on hold 8-10 minutes, the line goes dead.

Now it is July 27, and it sounds like July 31 is the drop dead date. I feel completely unable to communicate with someone at Iberia who could be helpful. Does anyone have any ideas?
