Back in February Wyndham announced an awesome promotion which you should all at least consider! The promotion requires you to complete two stays through June 30, 2018 and you’ll receive 15,000 points. While 15,000 points might not seem like a lot, if you are aware of Wyndham’s program, you’ll know that those points will actually get you a free night at any Wyndham property. Wyndham has a fixed redemption program where all hotels require 15,000 points per night regardless of the quality and cost of the hotel. A Holiday Inn Express right off the highway costs the same as their all-inclusive Wyndham hotel in the Caribbean! You can register for the promotion here.a close up of a sign

This is actually the third time the past year that we’ve seen a free night promotion. The first time you were able to earn 7,500 points per stay (up to 15,000 points), but you needed to pay using MasterPass. The second time it required 3 stays to earn the full 15,000 points and you still needed to pay via MasterPass. But this time around you only need two stays to earn the 15,000 points, no bonus points after your first stay (must complete two stays) and no MasterPass payment requirement!

Definitely a Mattress Run Worthy Promotion!

This could definitely be a mattress run worthy promotion. For example, on a quick search, I saw that the Days Inn in Orlando/International Drive has rooms for $35-$40. This is an incredibly inexpensive rate and if you were to stay at this hotel twice, you’d pay no more then $90 (with taxes). Although I am not sure you actually want to stay at that particular property! That will then earn you the 15,000 points which you can turn around and redeem for a room that could possibly cost $300 or more! While Wyndham doesn’t have as many high end properties as some of the other chain hotels, you could definitely get some good value out of these points – New York City, Napa, Aspen, Caribbean, etc.! I personally just stayed at the Wyndham in Santa Monica and while the property was nothing spectacular, it just just a block from the beach right in Santa Monica and a perfect place to spend a few days.

To take advantage of this promotion, I personally had my husband complete a few mattress runs during various business trips to Orlando. While he didn’t actually stay at the property (and instead stayed at a much nicer Starwood nearby!), it was worth paying $90ish for us to then stay at a Wyndham property that would cost us at least $250+.

Keep in mind that no shows DO NOT earn points. Back in 2012, if you booked a stay at a Wyndham property and didn’t actually check in, no show stays counted towards promotions. While you’ll still earn the points now for a no show stay they will not count towards the promotion. From personal experience this no longer works!

Comment below if you have any cheap Wyndham properties nearby! Will you be taking advantage of this promotion? You only have a few days left!

A HIX off the highway? You mean a Super 8 or Knight’s Inn right?
